Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to support our growing heat shield fabrication business. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being out on the shop floor, solving problems in close collaboration with production staff. Specific tasks include:

  • Ensures that our industrial, aerospace and defense products, production methods and systems meet or exceed customer expectations and complying with regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and report on key quality metrics and identify areas for improvement
  • Effectively lead and manage a team of quality professionals including engineers, inspectors and analysts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and customer service, to identify and resolve quality, safety and compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain certifications, including AS9100/ISO9001, Nadcap, DDTC/ITAR, and CMMC.
  • Conduct quality audits and supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
  • Develop and implement training programs to improve quality awareness, culture and skills across the organization. Management of training logs
  • Management of calibration programs.
  • Management of 3rd party NDT and destructive testing suppliers.

    Skills Required

    • Bachelors degree in engineering or other technical field.
    • At least 5+ years of experience leading a team in quality management, with a proven track record of improving product quality and customer satisfaction, preferably in a fabrication setting.
    • Working Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, Nadcap, CMMC.
    • Experience with quality tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control, APQP.
    • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
    • Must have detailed understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, GD&T.
    • Extensive experience in qualification of first articles, preferably using both PPAP and AS9102 processes.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Must have a general understanding of welding, preferably resistance welding per AWS D17.2.
    • Must have ability to simplify complex issues into actionable plans and communicate them across the organization.
    • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Spanish/English proficiency is desirable.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
    • Must meet requirements to view CUI as defined by DFARS 252.204-7012.
